A busy time at the Guthries in Montenegro!

Right now we are in the midst of having a great time with family and friends from Mildura. Our daughter, Elena, was the first to arrive and she has been followed by our friends Kate and Gerry Power. Now Father Tom Brophy, Parish Priest of Sacred Heart Mildura, is presently visiting the area. Father Tom is only here for a few days while Kate and Gerry are staying for three weeks.

His first viewing of the Pedregal Alto project.
I don't think it is the Portland Cement we know!
Father Tom has been totally amazed with all that he has seen, Marion even made sure that he visited the almost completed comedor at Pedregal Alto. A project been funded by Sacred Heart Primary School as well as many other members of both the Sacred Heart Mildura Parish and Sunraysia community.

This morning we attended Mass up in Valle Sagrado. The local people could not believe their luck, they had two priests! Father Mick McKinnon arrived with Father Tom. Everybody loved him when he distributed Rosary beads to all the children.

Kate and Gerry have immediately made a great hit with the local people. Gerry has offered his services as a Chiropractor and already has a pretty full schedule of bookings for three days a week. Kate has begun to work with a group of very talented women who produce quality needle work. Kate is going to introduce them to patchwork. The women even took her shopping last week to a huge market at Gamarra to purchase the required material!
They were welcomed at the Valley Sagrado Mass and Kate was even wished ‘Feliz CumpleaƱos’ – Happy Birthday for November 1st!
And only two days ago we farewelled our daughter, Elena, for a month – she is travelling to her jungle experience near Villabamba in Ecuador. This happy snap was taken as she was feeding the pigeons in the Plaza at Arequipa!
