Instead of conversational English on these evenings Marion led the groups singing Christmas Carols, in English. The actual tunes are the same in both Peru and Australia, it’s the words that are different!
Below our five ‘graduates’ pose for their photos with the ‘professors’! It was a pity that our other three members of the class - Antonio, Gladys and Marie Theresa - could not be present on the evening.

On Monday evening we also celebrated two Birthdays, Trini on the left and Pilar on the right blowing out the candles.
We were delighted that Miguel and his wife Ruth came for the celebrations. He was in our first group, however, he had to cease coming due to big problems with a tumour behind his knee. After operations and treatment he is now up and about, thank heavens. He and Ruth are a delightful couple and have become close friends.
Our second happy group of Marie, Lupe, Maritza, Marco, Johany, Jolanda and Trinidad with their well earned Certificates of Conversational English Achievement. Maritza received a special mention for being the only person who attended every night during the course, a wonderful achievement when you consider her daily work commitments.
A very happy family group of Yolanda, Trinidad and Marco. This family live right up the head of the valley. Marco leaves for work around 4.00 a.m. every day to drive a taxi in Lima; however, he really has a dream to return to University to complete his Law degree. Trinidad’s dream is to become a medical doctor. They are a great family and have loved every minute of their studies.
