Our second group for English.

We cannot believe that six months have elapsed since departing Australia, we have even just completed the first month of lessons with our second group. Time just flies by, it may have something to do with the fact that the weather is cooler and not so tiresome, also due to some moisture in the air there is far less dust to cope with!
Believe it or not we have finally been granted Peruvian residency for a year! I have attached the photo of the ID cards as proof. I hope that you take good note of the classification - "religios residente", most appropriate, although neither of us really accept the mug shots as true images of ourselves! In fact I have rarely met anyone who likes their mug shot. One of the biggest hurdles we had to face in the process was that the authorities found it almost impossible to accept that you can be catholic, married and a lay missionary at the same time! This was the category we were advised to apply under. However, we have found that these cards work far faster in Peru than our Aussie passports. They even get you free access to Macchu Pichu.
After the first month we promised the group that they would each receive a new dictionary, they have arrived and they just love working with them. From the left - Zenaida, Willysm, Carolina, Lupe, Shirly and Johany. It is interesting to note that in our second group there are far less adults than in the first, in fact almost one third are teenage secondary girls who are already studying some English in their various Colleges. We did put an age limit on our registrations, fourteen and older.
I should have removed the pointer from the table, it may give the wrong impression!
Maritza working very hard on Spanish to English and English to Spanish translations.
Marion working on basic sentence structure with a very interested group.
